About Our Masks, Sculptures & Ritual Objects
Every mask, sculpture, and ritual object in our gallery is an authentic, handmade piece of African art, thoughtfully sourced from private collections. Each object carries its own history and was shaped by the cultural and spiritual traditions of the community from which it originates.
We curate our collection with care, drawing on years of experience, research, and personal relationships with collectors and specialists. When necessary, we apply only gentle, respectful restoration—done solely to preserve the piece, never to change its original spirit, surface, or story.
Because these objects are handmade and often used ceremonially, determining exact age and historical attribution is not always possible. All descriptions and age estimates are shared honestly and accurately to the best of our knowledge.
Natural wear, patina, and signs of use are to be expected and are part of what makes each mask, sculpture, or ritual object unique and meaningful.
Provenance & Ethical Sourcing Statement
We are committed to responsible stewardship and ethical collecting practices. All works are sourced from private collections formed through legal means, and we do not knowingly acquire or offer objects that have been illicitly obtained, unlawfully exported, or removed in violation of applicable cultural heritage laws.
Whenever available, provenance information is documented and shared to provide transparency regarding an object’s history of ownership. While complete provenance may not always be obtainable—particularly for older works—each piece is vetted to the best of our ability in accordance with established professional standards.
We approach African art with respect for the cultures and communities from which these works originate, recognizing their historical, artistic, and cultural importance. Our goal is preservation, education, and thoughtful placement of these objects into collections that value their significance and legacy.
